Testimonies of Transformation

My daughter Chloie Cate has been struggling in school with her reading & spelling. She has been in IST for going on two years, working closely with the school. They most recently evaluated her for EC, and when the teacher was working with her, she told us that she didn't know why she was with her because she CAN read.. Chloie has shown growth and made improvements.

 

Though she is still not where she needs to be on her grade level, we are working hard and reaching those goals to be a strong reader! Without the help from Ms. Sharonda and His Chosen Outreach Ministries Inc SOAR’s  Math & Reading Enrichment program, this journey would have been much harder!

 

I'm so grateful for all the teachers who volunteer their time to help these children one on one in those areas where they need a little more help.

 

It has been such a blessing and a huge help to my family. I am so appreciative and grateful for all they do!

The reading and enrichment program SOAR through Kingdom Kids/His Chosen Outreach Ministries has worked wonders in my 2 children’s lives. My daughter Ella was 4 when she started school at Classical Charter Schools of Southport. At the beginning of the year she was tested and scored pretty low in reading. After meeting with her teachers this past Friday they all gave me excellent reports of how well she has progressed and improved since the beginning of the school year. At first she couldn’t read ANY words but now she is able to read 23 words! I was so ecstatic to hear that news! She is also improving in her math work and can add/subtract 2 digit numbers.

 

With my son Kaison it was more so just getting adjusted to the school and their curriculum being a little different from the public school. He started out a little below reading level and had to be placed in “intervention” to help bring him up to speed. I can now say that he has graduated from intervention and is now a part of his class! This program works wonders and it is an amazing benefit for our community!

​I cannot find the words to describe what SOAR means, to the students and to the volunteers. I chose to volunteer hoping to bless others, and it turned out to bless me! The students seem to leave the sessions filled with joy and accomplishment; there are moments when they may struggle momentarily with a word or concept and then their eyes light up with understanding! I wish every child had the opportunity to attend. I had hoped for the Lord to use me to inspire the students, but it is them and this program that inspires me!
